Devotional: Grace

Image
There is more grace in God than there is sin in me and you! Amen! “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.  For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past. Romans 3:22-25

Devotional: What kind of fruit......

Image
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. — Galatians 5:22-23 Where the Holy Spirit lives, human character is changed and spiritual fruit can be seen. Certainly this maturity isn't found overnight! It is, however, noticeable over the long haul of life. What fruit is the Spirit bearing in your life? In what ways have you matured? In what areas do you want the Spirit to exercise greater control? Why not take a moment and consciously yield those areas in which you struggle to Him now, as you pray?

Devotional: It's All About Love....

In 1 Corinthians, Paul describes various spiritual gifts and ways we can demonstrate Godly living in the world. He touches on the gift of tongues, prophecy with understanding, and faith that could move mountains. Yet somehow, he passes all of these things for just one thing: Love.  In 1 Corinthians 13:13 he says, “Three things will last forever: faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of these is love.”

COVID-19 - Quarantined....

Image
This is the message I keep telling myself. Otherwise, I would be busting out of this self-quarantined environment to enjoy the freedoms that heretofore were often taken for granted. I happen to be one of the “targeted” .... therefore, I will continue to stay safe and stay home.  When I do exit, I know this world is going to look a lot brighter and the freedoms will be much sweeter. There is so much we miss when our freedoms are taken away. I am a hugger. I think that is an engrained southern thing for sure. “They” say we might not ever get that back. I really hope that’s not true!  Thank You, our mercy-filled and grace-filled Father for always giving us Your best of everything. Your love is amazing and everlasting. You allow Your children to walk through the valleys of life because, if we remain with You, we will come through stronger, refined, and renewed.  This is but another trial for us to conquer. We have a choice. We can either bow to our weaknesses, or we can shine w

CANCER: One Year Ago....Completed Radiation Treatments

Image
It’s been ONE YEAR!!!  YAY!  One Year since I completed my radiation treatments. It has been a year of ups and downs...including 6 months of more chemo (oral this time), but it has also been a year filled with so many blessings.  I have actually been on my cancer journey for 20 1/2 months. It will be two years in September. I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed and how much my life has changed.  My family is my most cherished blessing. They have been here for me every step from day one. God continues to lead my journey.  Let Your Light Shine! Thank You Jesus!

CANCER: Can We Find A Brain........

I went to my Medical Oncologist appointment today with Dr. Bondly. I was very pleased to see that all proper protocol was being used to keep the patients, office staff, and medical professionals as safe as possible. They took everyone's temperature before entering the Oncology waiting room. In addition, each patient had their picture taken as well. Masks were required and there was sufficient space distancing between seating. Usually there is a huge waiting room full of people, but no guests were allowed to come with you and they spaced the patients appointments more to help with the number of patients there at one time.   First time I have had a check-up with her in 3 months. My port functioned without any issue and I was so glad about that. The nurse took several vials of blood. Some of the reports were in prior to my leaving and the ones that were in looked real good. I was extremely happy to hear that.  Dr. Bondly said I looked great and she found no issues d
