OUR PURPOSE.....

Because of our humanity, we often lose sight of what God’s purpose is for us. Although our goals while in this short span of time called “life” should be the same, our individual gifts will influence how we achieve our purpose. We have all been gifted and are to use our talents for the good of others and for His glory. We are to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. By our words, actions….by the way we live our lives ~ being the active, breathing church outside the walls ~ bringing the lost to Him. So many live their one life in a continuous state of searching, feeling unfulfilled, sad, empty…..ever looking, but not knowing what they are looking for or what is missing. They are missing Jesus.

It is His followers who have been given the task of reaching out….going to the world, and that means starting right in your own neighborhood….sharing the love of Jesus and His message in whatever manner works for you. He makes no promise of continuous blue skies and rainbows while we are in our present state. This is not to be our home; therefore, our eyes are to be set on our future Home and knowing Him intentionally and intimately. We are going to experience pain and sorrow here, but we know it is only temporary. God does not promise us a perfect world because it now belongs to satan; however, he does promise to never leave us or forsake us while we travel life’s journey. If we spend our time loving Jesus, loving each other, and serving others, we will experience a true, abundant joy that will be everlasting.

Romans 8:28 reads: “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” That does not mean that all will work well on earth, but when our vapor has diminished and His followers cross over into eternity, all will be well. Ever looking Upward! †
